Meet our club and some of its members 

And they're off!

Our club is racing in KidVantage's Diaper Derby, the 10th year for this worthy event that collected 127K diapers for local kids in 2023. This fun project tracks how many diapers, dollars, and wipes each participating organization contributes May 3-June 7.

Last year, our club's "horse," the Spirit of Issaquah, won the Preakness division, which comprises organizations that have 11-49 members. You can take these steps to help us retain our title:

• Drop off diapers at Gibson Hall during one of our weekly Wednesday meetings.
• Order specific items to donate from a wishlist.
• Donate money directly.

For both online options, please identify our club as ISSAQUAH KIWANIS in the remarks to ensure that we are awarded points for your contribution.

KidVantage is a member of the National Diaper Bank Network (NDBN), and the Baby2Baby Network, nationwide nonprofits dedicated to eliminating diaper need in America and to helping meet the need of all babies and their families.

Club members engage in a variety of projects throughout the community to help local children and their families thrive. For example:

• We have booths at community events, such as Salmon Days and Concerts on the Green.

• Every year, we host our own events, including Boots, Barrels, and Brews.

• We volunteer at the Issaquah Food and Clothing Bank multiple times per month.

• We pick up litter and keep Issaquah tidier on the first Saturday of every month.

• We raise money through efforts such as selling Secret Salmon Spice and See's Candies: 

• We manage committees for specific needs, such as grants and community services.

We also discuss community interests at our general meetings, including:

• Issaquah's community court
• King County's program to boost recycling
• how mentoring students can make a huge difference in their lives
• how Make-A-Wish helps heal and lift children's spirits
• substance abuse, especially fentanyl, in our community
